Fujiwara Yu (Japanese, 1932-2001). Large Bizen ceramic bowl, ca. 1964-65. Woodfired bare claw with natural fly ash. Stoneware with an incised maker's mark along the footrim. With flash markings from straw along the underside.

Condition

There are marks on the interior consistent with a nesting technique implemented during the firing process. The underside has signs of light wear, consistent with age and use. There are no major chips, cracks, or losses. There are no visible signs of restoration under UV light.
