Fred Fehlau (American, 20th-21st century). Set of ten screenprints titled "Between a Rock and Hard Place (Inside/Outside)," 1991. Each print reads "Top Center Bottom Left Side Right Side" along their self-referencing locations. Each numbered "26/30," inscribed with directions, initialed, and dated in pencil along the lower left. Each blindstamped along the lower left. Each print includes directions for which print is which, including 1A, 2A, 3A, 1/B, 2/B, 3/B, 1/C, 2/C, 1/D, and 2/D. With this set of prints, Fred Fehlau questions the viewer's relationship with directions, geography, and space.
