Eric Gibberd (English, 1897-1972). Oil painting on linen titled "Spanish Sunset," depicting a highly textured scene of the sun setting over abstracted mountains. The artist's studio label is adhered to the verso, which notes that the work was exhibited in Barcelona and Amsterdam in the1950s. Labels from the Polly Gibberd collection as well as Stable Gallery, Taos, New Mexico, are adhered to the frame verso.
