Early Chinese jade Cong with lovely carved face patterns along the corners and a russet inclusion along one side. While there is not much known about these early jade carvings, they have been found in many burial sites and continue to be highly collectible works.
Height: 2 1/2 in x width: 2 1/2 in x depth: 2 1/4 in. The cong is in generally good condition with no major losses, cracks, or dents. Consistent with its age and use, there is wear throughout the piece and there are some losses most significantly to each rim. When inspected under UV light, there was no sign of restoration.
