Chinese porcelain brush washer, Qing dynasty. The brush washer is in the form of a gourd with gilt embellishments along the surface depicting a phoenix flying among clouds along the inkpad, located along the bulbous region of the gourd. Along the top of the gourd, there is an impression depicting a sun and crescent moon with gilt floral and foliate motifs along the edges of the impressions. With a custom carved wooden stand that matches the form of the brush washer. Douanes exhibition Paris sticker along the underside.

The washer appears to be in overall good shape. There may be a small repair along the stem of the washer, though this is difficult to discern. Some light losses to the gilt. Light wear to the stickers along the underside and the underside of the porcelain.
