Chinese Porcelain Yellow Ground Tea Caddy

Chinese porcelain lidded jar, glazed with a scene of a green flying dragon chasing a flaming pearl over a yellow ground. Marked along the underside with apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue. It has been fitted with a metal collar and lid for use as a tea caddy.
Height: 4 1/4 in x diameter: 3 3/4 in.
The tea caddy is in generally good condition without visible chips or dents. There are dark dots throughout the piece, which is most likely to be a firing flaw. There are some areas that are oversprayed, most noticeably to clouds. There is a minute chip to the center of the flaming pearl. By the chip, there is a 1/4 inch long crack that is only visible through careful scrutiny and that is so minute that the camera could not catch it. There is wear and spotty discoloration to the metal top; on top of it, there is glue residue visible that causes unevenness to the surface. When inspected under UV light, there was no sign of restoration. Wear to the foot rim, consistent with its age and use. As expected, dust collected inside. Revere Auctions accepts wire transfers, checks (personal or business check in US dollars certified by a US bank, a cashier’s/banker’s check drawn on a US bank or US money order), cash (US currency not to exceed $10,000 in a single or multiple related payments). Visa, Discover, American Express or MasterCard may be used and are subject to a 3.0% convenience fee and are limited to purchases of $5,000.00 (total). Credit Card payments for jewelry and gold are NOT accepted. The purchaser’s obligation to pay immediately the full purchase price is absolute and unconditional and is not subject to any defenses, setoffs or counterclaims of any kind whatsoever. Revere Auctions is not obligated to release a lot to the purchaser until title to the lot has passed. The purchaser agrees to pay Revere Auctions handling charge of $30 for any check dishonored by the drawee.
SHIPPING

This is at the request, expense, and risk of the Buyer, and Revere Auctions assumes no responsibility for the items or the timing of delivery.
