One Chinese Han Dynasty (202 BC–220 CE) funerary cocoon jar or vase. Low fired earthenware. A large and well formed example of a stylized cocoon, this example with excellent form and volume. Later models of this form have harder corners and do not have the tradition full cocoon shape but merely the profile.
