Chinese famille rose ginger jar, drilled as a lamp through the lid and base. Decorated with profuse floral designs throughout; with two cartouches along the sides depicting flowers with moths and a bird. Marked in red Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi "Great Qing Qianlong Period Make" along the underside. Includes a wooden stand.
Height: 19 1/2 in x diameter: 8 in.
Condition
Other than being lamped, the jar is in good condition. No signs of restoration when inspected under UV light. No chips, cracks, or losses. No signs of major rubbing to the painted decoration. All decoration appears to be original. Light wear to the top and bottom rim, consistent with use; visible in the lot listing. Some small firing flaws throughout, most noticeable along the interior of the jar. There are is a foam ring affixed along the interior rim of the lid. The jar has been drilled as a lamp and there is a hole along the footrim and lid of the vase. The lamp has been tested and turns on but has not been tested for prolonged use.
