Charles St. Pierre (American, 1896-1945). Oil on canvas painting depicting a procession of classical figures in dress reminiscent of ancient Greece. The composition harks to works by classical French painter Nicolas Poussin with finely rendered drapery and rich, bold colors. Signed along the verso. Charles St. Pierre is a Minnesotan painter with murals that decorate the Chicago Tribune building.
