Austrian sterling silver and inlaid shell box of rectangular form with clipper corners and ornamental engraving. The top of the box inlaid with four pieces of shell alternated with three panels of silver. With gilt wash interior. Marked along the interior 935 LW Sterling 833 Austrian hoopoe bird with I and W for .935, marked the same along the top lid, marked at each panel of silver on the top with 833 hoopoe bird with I and W for .935.
Length: 87.26 mm x width: 57.98 x depth: 16.14 mm. Gross weight: 131.2 g.
There are no major losses or scratches. Some minor dents and nicks to the edges, light scratching. There is faint tarnishing in recessed areas. There are no signs of restoration.Box opens and closes easily, but does not close firmly.
