Musin was one of the most prominent marine artists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His father, Francois Etienne Musin was also a highly noted marine painter. He was awarded an honorable mention at The Paris Salon. He was also awarded a gold medal in Rouen, France and medals in London, Periquex, Limoges, Marseille, Dunkerque, Reims, and more.Sight; height: 26 in x width: 48 1/2 in. The painting is in fair condition with no visible tears, creases, or restoration under UV light. The canvas surface is stable; however, there is craquelure throughout, most noticeably to the sky. To the upper left quadrant, there is an unstable surface with paint losses. Along the upper margin, there is a stretcher's bar mark visible. Wear to the frame. Verso not inspected.
