The item is in fair condition. The paper is glued to the board. The paper is toned and browning as shown in the listing image. There is an acidic burn, most likely from the previous mat. Foxing and soiling throughout. There are minor losses along the margins. To the right upper quadrant, there is a light red vertical line mark. To the center, there is a light crease that is only visible under careful scrutiny. To the lower right and left quadrants, there are line marks that measure from 1/4 inches to 2 inches. The verso of the paper could not be inspected due to the nature of how the item is matted. Along the verso of the mat, there is soiling and heavy foxing; old tape marks and skimming visible along the margins. Along the upper left quadrant of the verso, there is a cut that does not affect the recto. No visible sign of restoration under UV light.
