Antique Chinese cloisonne rabbit or mouse candlestick, possibly Ming dynasty. The rabbit with gilt detailing against a cobalt blue ground and a floral vine in its mouth, seated atop a round, openwork tripod base with scrollwork carved along the gaps between the feet. With removable candle cup and wax pan. The base and wax pan with floral sprays and foliate motifs along the enamel surface; a burgundy red ground with blues, greens, yellows, and whites flowing throughout the designs.
Height: 8 in x width: 5 1/4 in x depth: 4 1/2 in.
No major dents, losses, or restorations. Verdigris patination throughout. Some tarnishing to the metal components. The candlestick is somewhat loose.
