Alexander Gorenstein (Russian, b. 1952). Oil on canvas painting titled "Equilibrium," 2010, depicting a surrealistic scene of a man laying on his back levitating against a pink and blue sky amongst several dark blue orbs, some balancing on straws while others lay along the ground. A ladder appears along the far right, balancing on its own against the sky, and leading to nowhere. Signed along the lower right. Davidson Galleries label affixed along the verso. Reminiscent of works by Paul Delvaux, Leonor Fini, Salvador Dali, and Rene Magritte. Provenance: Davidson Galleries, Seattle, Washington; Private collection, Minnesota.
