Group of six antique lithographed gunpowder tins. Five Laflin and Rand including: two tins of lightning smokeless powder for rifles; one tin of orange extra sporting manufactured by Hercules Powder Co.; one tin of smokeless powder for shotguns; one tin of orange rifle powder. Also included is one DuPont brand tin of "Sharpshooter" rifle smokeless powder.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Height ranges from 5 in to 6 in; width ranges from 3 1/2 in to 4 1/2 in; depth ranges from 1 1/4 in to 2 in.
No major dents or losses to any of the tins. Wear, discoloration, and corrosion as expected with age and use.
