Group of four shipwreck ceramics intended for the Thai market. One green jar or vase with two applied handles and the head and tail of a rooster. One brown jar or vase with a small mouse or rat standing on the shoulder of the vase and peering over the rim. Two lidded vessels with painted decoration along the lids.
Height ranges from 1 1/2 in to 4 in; diameter ranges from 2 3/4 in to 4 1/4 in.
The ceramics are in good condition in general with no major losses, cracks, or chips that affect the overall piece. All items show wear throughout, as expected, with original glazing and firing flaws. The brown jar or vase (upper left in the lot listing) has a chip to the footrim. The green jar (upper right) has cracks to the green glaze; no chips visible to the rooster; discoloration to the part that is not glazed. The low vessel (lower left) has noticeable glazing flaws throughout; there are scattered areas of minute discoloration as expected from its age; there is a crack to the rim, which measures 1/4 inch along with three minute chips- the biggest chip being 1/4 inch long; there is a 1/4 inch long crack to the inner rim; there is a 1/4 inch loss to the exterior of the vessel. The high vessel (lower right) has scattered areas of crazing to the glaze; there is a minute chip to the inner rim; there is a minute chip to the interior of the lid. All items have wear to the underside; it has a possible restoration to the inner rim. Please contact us for a detailed condition report. The purchaser’s obligation to pay immediately the full purchase price is absolute and unconditional and is not subject to any defenses, setoffs or counterclaims of any kind whatsoever. Revere Auctions is not obligated to release a lot to the purchaser until title to the lot has passed. The purchaser agrees to pay Revere Auctions handling charge of $30 for any check dishonored by the drawee.
SHIPPING
Revere Auctions does NOT offer in-house shipping. As a convenience to the Buyer, Revere Auctions will make a referral for packing and shipping. This is at the request, expense, and risk of the Buyer, and Revere Auctions assumes no responsibility for the items or the timing of delivery. Insurance for in transit items is the responsibility of the buyer. The buyer must reach out to a shipping company to arrange shipping.
