Asahel Curtis (American, 1874-1941). Group of four goldtone or orotone photographs. Three depicting waterfalls and one depicting a portrait of a woman. The waterfalls including Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls, and Yosemite Falls. Each of the photos of waterfalls labeled along the verso "D'orotone print printed on glass and backed with gold Pillsburys Pictures, Inc. Yosemite, Cal." His siblings include Edward Sheriff Curtis, a well-known photographer and ethnologist.
Provenance: From the Estate of Christopher Cardozo.
Height ranges from 7 1/4 in to 9 1/2 in; width ranges from 3 3/4 in to 7 1/4 in; depth ranges from 1/2 in to 1 inch.
All photos appear in good condition. the colors are lustrous and deep. There are no visible tears, losses, break, or restorations. Framed under glass. Light wear to the frames. Not inspected out of frame.
