Currier and Ives was founded by Nathaniel Currier (American, 1813-1888) in 1835 as "the Grand Central Depot for Cheap and Popular Prints," but changed its name with the addition of James Merritt Ives (American, 1824-1895) in 1857. The company created over 7000 popular lithographs depicting American life until 1907.(Sight) Height ranges from 11 3/4 in to 18 1/2 in; width ranges from 15 1/4 in to 24 1/2 in.
