Donald Gahr (American, b. 1940). Two hanging carved wooden waterfowl, ca. 1980s. Oil painted and with detachable wooden wings that extend outwards. One bird with carved legs that descend from the body. Gahr was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, and lived for three decades there before settling in Wisconsin.

Blue and white; body; height: 53 in x diameter: 6 1/2 in. Wings, each; height: 44 in x width: 17 in. Teal; body; height: 35 in x width: 9 3/4 in x depth: 19 1/2 in. Wings, each; height: 40 in x width: 12 1/2 in.

Condition
Small chips and losses throughout. There are small cracks throughout each as expected with age of the wood. Dust collected along each sculpture. The smaller bird has a crack through the neck near the base. The wings are detached.
