Asa Lynn "Ace" Powell (American, 1912-1978). Two mixed media on paper drawings depicting portraits of Native Americans. One signed along the lower left and the other along the lower right. Powell is known for his genre scenes depicting Native Americans and is often associated with fellow Montana artist Charles M. Russell.
Each, sight; height: 20 in x width: 13 in. Framed; height: 28 in x width: 20 1/2 in.
Overall there are no visible tears, creases, or losses. The item with red ribbons has minute dark accretions along the lower left quadrant. One of the plastic stoppers is not firmly attached to the backing paper. There is soiling throughout the backing paper. The item with a white pendant has dark accretions along the lower left quadrant; along the upper left quadrant, there is a minute mark that appears to be a part of the original texture of the paper. One of the plastic stoppers has torn from the backing paper. There is light soiling throughout the backing paper. There is wear to the frame on both items. Not inspected out of frame. There are no visible signs of restoration under UV light.
