19th century Chinese famille rose porcelain planter. A jardiniere cache pot depicting a Lohan and other figures among rocks, and two figures referencing a classical Chinese story. Similar to some straits Chinese palette works in the Peranakan ware. From the Tongxi period.
Height: 14 in x diameter: 16 in.

There are several large cracks along the exterior of the planter, several of which intersect at one point, as a product of being broken into multiple pieces. Evidence of enamel loss along cracks as a result of restoration. There is minor chipping along the exterior rim as well as scratches and minor imperfections throughout the mid- to upper area of the planter. There is also evidence of glaze flaking. Towards the bottom third of the interior of planter, there is no glaze at all and significant wear.
