18th c. Italian pewter cellarette, of octagonal form with a hinged lid and round finial. The date 1785 is incised along the lid. The cellarette rests on a wrought-iron stand, which stands on three legs terminating in hoof feet and features elaborate scrolling decoration incised throughout. Lovely wrought-iron curling decoration extends from the stretchers.
