Niccolo Tommaso Grue (Italian, 1726-1781). 18th c. Italian maiolica istoriato plaque, depicting a scene of farmers gathering in the ruins of a Classical temple, a city and mountains in the background. Inscribed in red with the Sackler number 79.6.32 along the reverse. The plaque was thermoluminescence tested in May 1986 by the Research Laboratory for Archaeology and the History of Art, Oxford University, which dated the piece to between 1726-1826.
