German silver covered goblet, ca. 1890-1910. The stem in the form of a Classical figure eating grapes, likely Bacchus. The bowl with elaborate repousse decoration depicting Classical gods, dense foliage, and fruits. The finial in the form of a soldier; the sword the soldier carries lacks the blade. Height: 16 1/2 in x diameter: 5 1/4 in.
