One 1785 United States bar cent. The obverse with "USA" and the reverse with thirteen bars signifying the original thirteen colonies. These coins first appeared in the American colonies in 1785. The monogrammed design on the obverse of the coin copies those seen on pewter buttons worn on the uniforms of Continental soldiers. Graded by PCGS as N97BN, genuine but not gradable, due to environmental damage to the coin and the brown color of the coin, indicating that it retains less than 5% of the original red coloring.
