Description:

Anders Zorn (Swedish, 1860-1920). Etching on paper titled "Venus de la Villette" depicting a nude woman holding a piece of fabric, 1893. After a 1891 oil painting of the same name by the artist. Trimmed to plate. Either a 2nd or 3rd state printing. Pencil signed along the lower right. Dated and titled inside the mat.

  • Condition:
  • There are no rips, tears, or restorations. The sheet is toned. The sheet has been trimmed to just the image and the signature, visible in the lot listing; part of the signature has been trimmed. The sheet is hinged in two spots along the top edge. There is old framer's tape along the verso along the top edge and right edge. Numerous pencil inscriptions to the verso, visible in the lot listing. The sheet is protected by a piece of acetate plastic. Pencil inscriptions to the mat, not visible when closed, with the artist, title, and literature references. Housed between two mats. Not framed.
